# Code review with Gemini CLI

URL: https://codepanel.ai/agents/gemini-cli

Gemini CLI, Google's coding agent, in CodePanel's review loop: it connects through MCP and skills, reads GEMINI.md and answers every finding.

Gemini CLI is Google's coding agent, in the terminal, VS Code with a companion extension and other editors over the Agent Client Protocol. With CodePanel it is the author on the other side of the review: after it pushes, it reads the panel's findings on that commit over MCP, fixes or disputes each one with evidence, and rates every finding. It reads GEMINI.md and AGENTS.md (when listed in `context.fileName`), and the setup skill writes the loop into AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md, which it does not read by default: [GEMINI.md](/agents/files/gemini-md) shows how to give it the loop.

## How Gemini CLI connects

Gemini CLI connects through an MCP server entry in `~/.gemini/settings.json` and the `codepanel` and `codepanel-setup` skills. The steps are in [Other MCP clients](/docs/other-agents).
